The main object of this course is to promote students’ English writing skill to college level by introducing important writing strategies and addressing common EFL writing problems. In the first semester, students will be asked to examine sample paragraphs closely and critically, to write four paragraphs on assigned topics, and to revise and respond to other students’ writing. They also have to hand in four assignments of summary and reaction, plus finish exercises in grammar at home. Plenty of discussion will take place in class and active participation is highly required of students.
